The result of a multi-generational hillbilly eugenics program gone terribly wrong, Rob Vollmar has squandered his nearly limitless potential for over three decades now.

Trained in the rigorous discipline of Literature at the University of Science and Arts in Chickasha, Oklahoma and in the black arts of guitar by ol' Scratch himself, Vollmar stands helplessly by as the gods of rock and writing continue to battle it out for his soul. He is recognized as (in the words of one critic who happens to be Vollmar himself who also, in an unexpectedly post-post-modern turn of events, happens to be writing this bio in a third person voice), "a poor man's Don Henley for the 21st century" and also as being "not anywhere near as interesting an Oklahoman as Woody Guthrie."

Inanna's Tears is Vollmar's third graphic novel collaboration and his first with artist, mP Mann. His first two, THE CASTAWAYS and BLUESMAN, both with Pablo G. Callejo, have been published in multiple languages and CASTAWAYS was nominated for an Will Eisner Comics Industry Award in 2002 in the Best Single-Issue or One-Shot category.

Vollmar is a founding member of Comic Book Galaxy website and a regular contributor to THE COMICS JOURNAL. In addition to running ATOMIK POP, a comics/manga/anime shop in Norman, Oklahoma, Vollmar makes presentations to libraries and schools on a variety of topics related to comics. He also gigs and records with singer Shelly Phelps and the duo is in the middle of recording their follow-up to 2004's GIRL ON A WIRE.
