sleekweasel says:
Wow. Kitty with a lot on her mind. I love the maxim that villains are usually people trying to be good, or at least trying to do what's right, and Flask is a powerful example of that.
Bronkster says:
Geez, I was a bit apprehensive about scrolling to that last panel, but it appears Flask is merely in a reflective mood. *whew* This has been an excellent comic so far, but is this the end of it here? Is GoComics the only source now, or will both sites now be in sync?
Guilrel says:
I guess that's the end of that. Thouh it's somewhat sad because Flask knew Petey before he became... well Petey. Is this really the end of everything Aaron or do we still have Monday to look forward to for the last part of this story? Anyway it was nice commenting on your story so far Aaron, I'm going to miss being able to do this for free. But I'll always keep my eye out on the latest part of the story now.
Guilrel says:
Heh, I should have just looked up and read what you said up there about this first. It really is the end of everything. Well I said almost everything I wanted to say in the last comment. So, uh, bye... I suppose.
Urizad says:
So many justifications in the past. So many tragedies. So many lives. Now so much regret. When one does their duty, one should never overlook their own soul in the process. That bleak office may have always been more of a private hell for her than she really knew, that is until now.
Aaron Neathery says:
@Guilrel: The Petey and Flask saga will eventually continue in a new and more revealing storyline over at GoComics. I promise you that you haven't seen the last of *any* of these characters. As for being able to comment for free, I don't think they're charging over at GC, are they? Or did you mean something else?
@Bronkster: This is it for Endtown's run on Modern Tales. We'll be catching up with Al, Gustine, and the rest at GoComics in due course. There is much, much more to be revealed. :-)
Anonymous says:
I almost expected her to poof her self in the end.
Arcaton says:
This has been a brilliant story...
I'll be watching at GoComics fo' sho'.
Thanks for a great Modern Tale
sparkplug54 says:
It's been a great run, enjoyed it all. Questions: 1. Will you move the archives of this Endtown to Gocomics, or will it stay here, as a completely separate collection?
2. Will Endtown 2 be registered on TWC and ComicHovel? I have voted regularly on both, trying to get Endtown into better rankings, even tho it seemed that I had little company from the other fans.
3. Is there a chance of a book deal anytime soon? Like while it's still fresh in our minds.
Em Furlong says:
Hey just thought I should let my voice be heard before the end of the strip at this website.I'm kinda a lurker so I don't usually comment but I just wanted to say that ever since I discovered this strip last august I've been checking every weekday since to read up on the latest and I've throughly enjoyed every bit of it. This is a great comic and I know the one on gocomics is gonna be just a fantastic. Thanks for the read!
Starcat5 says:
@sparkplug54:
1) Most of it is ALREADY there. It is still missing everything from the firefight before finding the wounded Petey up until now, but one assumes that those missing comics will be filled in soon.
2) Again, one assumes that the author will just change TWC's linking URL from here to the new site. No need for duplication that way.
Niall says:
Mr Nethery: Congratulations! A sombre end, but a fitting one. I also was very worried that the "end of the month" meant we had one more day, and that didn't bode well for Flask's sense of guilt - seen here by her face being hidden in all four panels. But she may yet get to atone... and pay. I think Guilrel meant the commenting "for free" as in without needing to register yet another place just to comment, so I'll also fall silent. But I'll be watching!
Coyoty says:
Gocomics.com doesn't charge to comment on the comics, or to read current and recent comics. They do encourage you to upgrade to a "Genius" membership (with fee) to read without advertising, and you need to be a Genius to read the archives beyond a certain recency.
Liz says:
Oh, man, and this is the last day of the story-line? What now???
engineer says:
this is reminiscent of "Cordwainer Smith" (author of "the ballad of lost C'mel" - sort of, anyway)
James says:
I hope Flask won't be written out of your
Web-comic, Mr. Neathery. She is very much
a part of the Endtown series, for me, at least. It just wouldn't be the same without her. Besides, she has only been introduced
relatively recently. In spite of her past
errors in judgement, I for one thinks she
deserves a chance at some sort of happiness.
I'll be waiting to see what becomes of her.

Harm says:
I found the Endtown comic on Gocomics, and
came here to read the Al and Gustine story.
Very well done, and I look forward to finding
out more about Al, Gustine, Petey, Flask, and
all the other characters we met here.
(though I realize some of them are probably
'one-story' characters.....)
Hollenderster says:
So I guess this is a good point to finally unlurk and publicily comment without having to register. Congratualtions, Mr. Neathery! Very good storytelling and a well fitting and executed art style. It has been a pleasure to read this and I sure will keep reading Endtown 2.0
Rocky1927 says:
Thanks for a great time. I'll keep following you at GOCOMICS.
Hroar says:
Thank you, Aaron, for such wonderful, evocative work!
I am definatly following in Go comix; I LOVE your work!
skjellyfetti says:
Excellent comic! I've been riveted. One Question. The "oldest" comic on gocomics is the topsiders calling out muuuutant and chasing the cat on Jan 17. Is that the start of Endtown 2.0?
THANKS FOR THE STORY!
Aaron Neathery says:
@sparkplug54: I held off uploading the final installments of this story to the GoComics archive so as not to spoil anything. The gap in the archive should be filled by next week depending on how fast their tech people move on it. I will re-register the "new" strip at TWC and ComicHovel. Thanks, BTW, for your efforts to boost the ranking.. Really, it's enough for me to know that Endtown has active (and vocal) readers. As for seeing Endtown in print, I thought I had a taker a few months back but absolutely nothing came of it. Maybe I'll have better luck in the future. :-)
Aaron Neathery says:
@Arcaton: Thank you very much for reading! :-)
Aaron Neathery says:
@EmFurlong: Thank you! It's nice to hear that the strip has become a part of anyone's routine. :-)
Aaron Neathery says:
@Niall: I'll miss hearing from you but I'm glad to hear that you'll keep reading. Thank you. :-)
Aaron Neathery says:
@Liz: What now? Lots more.. Lots. :-)
Aaron Neathery says:
@James: Rest assured, I'm not dropping Flask (or any of these characters). She has a very important role to play in Endtown's future. :-)
Aaron Neathery says:
@Harm: Thank you very much! I don't really do one-story characters well. Nearly all of them end up cropping up again one way or another. :-)
Aaron Neathery says:
@Hollenderster: Thank you very much for reading AND unlurking. I'll try to keep things interesting over at 2.0. :-)
Aaron Neathery says:
@Rocky1927: Thank you very much! Nice to hear from you over here! :-)
Aaron Neathery says:
@Hroar: Thank you very much for sticking with me. I hope to keep this going for years to come. :-)
Aaron Neathery says:
@skjellyfetti: Thank you for reading! Yes, that's the first strip of the new storyline. There's a lot of material at the beginning of the GC archives, too, but there's a gap of several weeks (filled with placeholders) between that story and this one. The archives should be 100% complete by next week. :-)
Lynne the Lurker says:
Dear Aaron,
You are a masterful storyteller and artist. I have enjoyed this webcomic and will follow it on Go Comics.
Have you considered a novelisation of this story if no one will take it in its current form? The storyline and characters are very well presented and might survive the genre shift into a different medium.
Niall says:
Wow, 104 weeks - two years of this five days a week. And it's filled with more tension and plot twists than many other daily webcomics that have been going on for twice that much. Now, I have to finish reading all the other comics on your site, including the rest of the al and (human) gustine strips...
Steve says:
Great comic! I've really enjoyed it and your other on gocomics. Your characters have the feeling of more than just inanimate objects on a stage. Thank you for many hours of good reading!
shagbark says:
So... what about the two innocent workers that the good captain murdered with no due process? Will there be any consequences or concern about that?
Knaz says:
Uh, Neathery? I dunno what's going on with the website but something is askew. When I try going to "www.endtown.com" I get...well...it's like the site doesn't exist anymore.
I had to find this page on Google.
Might want to look into it?
Aaron Neathery says:
@Lynne: Thank you very much! I haven't put much thought into adapting Endtown into prose because, to be honest, my prose isn't very good.
Aaron Neathery says:
@Niall and Steve: Thank you for reading! :-)
Aaron Neathery says:
@shagbark: Yes.
Aaron Neathery says:
@Knaz: Somebody grabbed my aaronneathery.com domain name (somehow I wasn't informed that it was about to lapse). I'm temporarily redirecting endtown.com to the GoComics page until I can get something new lined up.
Knaz says:
Good to know.
When can we expect improvement? The GoComics page is kinda buggy--no offense.
TDW says:
I know this comic is over (for now) but I must say it has been one of the few I couldn't stop reading till I got to the end. I hope to enjoy Endtown 2.0 as much as I had with reading this one. excellent work.
V4Voracious says:
And that ladies and gentlemen is what we call a wrap.
Qualin says:
Hey Aaron. I don't you don't end this storyline here. Have you thought about hosting your comic on Keenspot?
